On-Air Broadcaster: Monday to Friday, 7a to 10a

101.5FM Truckee Tahoe Radio is looking for a dynamic and engaging On-Air Personality with a passion for the local community to join our team for the Weekday Morning Show. This high-profile, on-air position will interact with and engage our listeners on a regular basis, while driving home our message of community and lifestyle.

This is an in-person, part-time position, up to 25 hours per week. Salary DOE.

Primary Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Host the morning show with enthusiasm and professionalism.
  • Announce live reads, community calendar, guide to live music, weather and road report.
  • Keep an entertaining and natural flow of chat while keeping to a tight timing schedule.
  • Produce specialty segments, as requested.
  • Research and conduct interviews of guests.  Edit interviews and post for on-demand listening.
  • Produce an average of 25 spots per month.
  • Research topics and interest stories for show.
  • Engage with callers to the request line.
  • Connect with listeners via phone, via social media, and at in-person events.
  • Answer phones, check voicemail messages and forward to correct staff.
  • Participate in station programming, promotions, and sales meetings. 
  • Communicate with staff about concerns/policy changes in department.
  • Appear at live remote events or serve as board operator, as requested
  • Provide emergency news/weather during the show. 
  • On call for weather disasters, wildfire coverage, and/or breaking news, 
  • Other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Experience as an on-air personality or radio host.
  • High level of organizational skills, attention to detail and professionalism.
  • Highly skilled at multi-tasking – excels in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills. 
  •  High proficiency with Microsoft Programs and Google Apps.
  • Strong production skills.
  • Strong knowledge of FCC rules and regulations.
  • Ability to take initiative and work both independently and as a team player with a positive attitude and creative mindset.
  • Ability to lift up to 40lbs.
  •  Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time, up to 8 hours per day.
